Even More Music of the Day, Or, A Story About How Liz Accidentally Likes Dubstep

I can’t help myself. I’ve been bingeing on this song since my brother sent it to me yesterday.

This song, for lack of a better way to say it, gives me the Fantasy Novel Shakes. For some reason, whenever lightning and thunder are mentioned in a song or a book, it gives me this feeling. Like the whole world is stretched out in front of me, like stormclouds are gathering on the horizon, like I can lean back and brush my shoulder blades against the thin barrier separating me from the next dimension. It’s a large part of the reason I like The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett. (Side note: I just noticed that Watership Down isn’t on this list that I’ve linked. What the eff, Past Liz. What the eff.)

I’ve been thinking a lot about music lately. It occurs to me that sharing your music tastes with someone is one of the most intimate, personal details you could reveal about yourself. So, you’re welcome, Readers. You know me Real Good now.

What kind of music gets your creative juices flowing?
