I feel like I can finally talk about this, because I have a date for when my fiction finally gets printed and I get to hold my own words in my own two hands.
My story “Small Seeds” has been accepted for publication in the May 4 issue of Strangelet. This is Issue 1 for them (but not their first). I’m so excited to be a part of something that looks like it will be around for a long time.
This story is important to me. It is the result of a lot of bottled-up emotion kind of coming to a head about a year and a half ago — this was my way of handling a lot of stress and feelings that formed a pact to crush me under a mountain of pressure. It was a cathartic experience, but a hard one as well. The story is semi-autobiographical, or at least, there are elements in it that are True Things That Happened, but beyond that, every image in the story is important to me in some way.
So, needless to say, this one sits close to my bones.
